7.11 Communication faults of MPLS [ROUTE-OS7]
Eliminate any communication problems which occur in connection with MPLS by
following the procedures described below.
7.11.1 Communication cannot be maintained between IP-VPN sites
7.11.2 Communication cannot be maintained between EoMPLS(L2-VPN) sites
7.11.2.1 Check VC of EoMPLS(L2-VPN)
Check the state of the VC between the sites that cannot communicate, in accordance
with Subsection 5.8.6, “Confirming the state of VC in EoMPLS (L2-VPN)”.
If the VC is in UP state:
Go to Subsection 7.11.2.2, “Check transfer state”.
If the VC is in a state other than UP:
Go to Subsection 7.11.5, “VC of EoMPLS(L2-VPN) has not been established”.

Note: In IP-VPN communication, the IP address of the BGP peer must be the local address of the
remote exit edge router. If the IP address of the BGP peer is the address of the interface of
the remote exit router, actual IP-VPN communication cannot be maintained, even if there is
BGP peering and label set up.
