IP-VPN (IP Virtual Private Network)

VPN service using MPLS technology. Also referred to as corporate-use IP transfer
service

IPX (Internetwork Packet Exchange)

A protocol used by USA Novell’s Netware in the network layer.

IPv4 (Internet Protocol version 4)

Internet protocol with 32-bit IP addresses

IPv6 global address

An address with the upper 3 bits of the address prefix starting with 001. It has a
hierarchical format for the purpose of integrating route data. IPv6 global addresses
are addresses that are unique throughout the world and are used in communication
via the Internet.

IPv6 link local address

An address in which the upper 64 bits of the address prefix are fe80:: and includes a
64-bit interface ID section. It is an address that is only valid within the same link
and is used when there is no auto-configuration, neighbor discovery or route.

IPv6 site local address

An address in which the upper 10 bits of the address prefix are "1111 1110 11" and
includes a 64-bit interface ID section. This is an address that is only valid within the
same site and is used when IPv6 addresses can be used freely on networks that are
not connected via the Internet.

IPv6 (Internet Protocol version 6)

Internet protocol with 128-bit IP addresses

Import filter

Controls whether or not to incorporate route data of routing packets received by the
specified protocol into the routing table based on filtering conditions.

Important packet protection function

A function for transferring important packets in the guaranteed bandwidth as
priority guaranteed bandwidth packets and transferring ordinary packets as
guaranteed bandwidth packets if important packets are transferred without using all
of the guaranteed bandwidth.

A unit that is appended to the IP address by the device.

Interface backup

A line backup method for connecting to the backup destination ISDN line when the
backup source line interface is disabled.

Interior node

A node that executes only transfer action based on DSCP in DS domains.
