Step 3.

Install the standby BCU:

<Install a new standby BCU>

If the target unit is the standby BCU and the unit is already removed in the
previous step, install a new one in accordance with Figure 8-11. Note that
the order of installing a new standby BCU is somewhat different from that
of removal shown in Step 2.

<When the target unit is the standby CPU fan>

When the target unit is the standby CPU fan, you do not need to swap the
memory card or the CPU board. Swapping the CPU fan is performed by
qualified maintenance personnel.

WARNING: Hazardous voltage. Can cause death or severe injury. Removing/adding

component while power is on must be conducted by trained and qualified
engineer or maintenance personnel.

Mount an appropriate amount of memory card onto
the RM-CPU board of the new standby BCU.

Install the CSW onto the standby BCU.

Note: Insert the MS64 and MS128 into the RM-CPU board’s
memory slots to equal the amount installed before swap-
ping.

Note: This operation is required only for the GR2000-20H

Install the RM-I/O board onto the standby BCU.

Note: Do not install the MC card removed in Step 2 yet.

Install the RM-CPU board onto the standby BCU.

Restart the standby BCU.

Note:

Restart the standby BCU by performing a default restart:

1. Simultaneously push the reset switch and the lamp test switch.
2. After releasing the reset switch, release the lamp test switch. The initial diagnostic codes will be

displayed one after another in STATUS CODE. If not, perform the default restart again.
