Monitor the Probe distance indicator bar on the HAPSITE screen for guidance.

. The bar rises as the TIC count increases. To avoid saturation,

remove the probe from the sample when the bar is high and turns yellow. If the
bar is red, the system is saturated. Remove the probe from the sample and
continue to run Survey until the saturation is cleared from the sample pathway.
If the system is saturated, there will also be red lines on the peak on the Laptop.

Move the probe away from the sample of interest. Monitor the TIC count until
the level returns to the initial background level that was noted in step 6.

Click on the Stop button (in the center of the Control Panel on the right side of
the screen) to stop the sampling process and save the data. If it has not already
been stopped manually, the Survey run will stop automatically when the run
time has reached three minutes. See

identification, run an Analyze (GC/MS) method for confirmation of the
