16.2 Safety Considerations
WARNING
When operating, the NEG pump is hot! Do not bypass the
programmed cool down sequence. Do not remove when
the NEG is hot or even slightly warm. Burns may result
from handling the hot flange and the NEG will be
unusable.
WARNING
Metal alloys within the NEG pump may ignite if exposed
to atmospheric pressure while hot. If ignition occurs,
drop pump into a bucket of sand and cover with more
sand. If this is not practical, set the pump on its black
plastic base on a non-flammable surface. The NEG pump
will burn out in a few minutes.
WARNING - Risk Of Electric Shock
Whenever accessing the internal components of the
Service Module, always disconnect the power cord and
remove the battery to reduce the danger of electrical
shock.
WARNING - Risk Of Electric Shock
The cover of the HAPSITE should never be removed. No
serviceable parts are inside.
