5.5.1 Quick Reference SOP — GC/MS Mode with HSS

Double-click the ER IQ software icon.

Verify that the desired sample configuration (i.e., Concentrator) is installed.

If the system is Shutdown or in Extended Standby, put the HAPSITE into either
power on the HAPSITE or take the system out of Standby. Depending upon the
method, the HAPSITE will begin preparing the Concentrator. If needed, refer to
Section 3.1.3, Concentrator Cleanout Failure, on page 3-11

Following a 20 minute sample temperature equilibration in the HSS oven,
gently depress the headspace needle into the 40 mL sample vial.

When the system has finished preparing, click the Run button in the pop-up
window.

When the screen prompts, Collecting Sample Now For and Sampling is
Done, no action is required from the user.

When the run is complete, a METHOD FINISHED prompt will appear.

When prompted, place the Headspace needle in the purge vial and press OK.
