Select the trap that you want to add.

Click OK.
It might take a while for the Select Trap dialog box to close. When it does, it updates the Alarm
Trap Name field with the configured trap.

17.

If you selected By Trap in the Filter Mode list, you also need to select the devices to apply this trap
filter rule for.

CAUTION:

If you select By Trap as your Filter Mode without selecting the devices, then the trap filtering defined in the
rule applies to all devices.

18.

Click Select located to the right of the Devices to Filter field. The Select Devices dialog box appears.
Add devices either By View or using the Advanced query option. See "

19.

If the selected trap has parameters, click Parameter Settings and set alarm parameters for each
device on the Set Alarm Parameters window that appears, and click OK. For more information

about setting alarm parameters, see "

Click Select View located to the right of the Custom View field, and click the Expand icon to the
left of the Custom View on the window that appears. Select one more subviews and click OK.

21.

If the selected trap has parameters, click Parameter Settings and set alarm parameters for each
view on the Set Alarm Parameters window that appears, and click OK. For more information

Select the period of time to which this trap filter rule applies from the Validity Period Configuration

dropdown list.

23.

Select Weekly if you want to define the days of the week and the hourly range.

24.

Click on the checkbox next to the day of the week that you want to apply this trap filter rule to.

Click on the checked box to remove the rule for that day.

25.

Select By Time Range if you want to set a specific date and time range for this trap filter rule.

If you selected By Time Range, enter:

Start Date: You can auto populate this field by clicking on the field located to the right. A popup

calendar is displayed. Select the start date from the calendar.

End Date: You can auto populate this field by clicking on the field located to the right. A popup
calendar is displayed. Select the start date from the calendar.

27.

Enter the Start Time for every day you have applied this trap filter rule to.

28.

Enter the End Time for every day you have applied this trap filter rule to.

29.

Click OK.

Modifying a user-defined trap filter rule

To modify a user defined trap filter rule:

1.

Navigate to Filtering Trap.

a.

Click the Alarm tab from the tabular navigation system on the top.

b.

Click Trap Management on the navigation tree on the left.

c.

Click Filtering Trap under Trap Management from the navigation system on the left.

2.

Click the Modify icon in the Filtering Trap main page associated with the trap filtering rule you
want to modify.
