Changing Coolant

Coolant should be drained and the system flushed and filled with new coolant every 2000 hours or 2 years.

Draining Coolant

DANGER

Stop engine and remove key from ignition before leaving operator's seat for any reason. A child or even a
pet could engage an idling machine.

CAUTION

To avoid personal injury from hot coolant, do NOT turn radiator cap until engine cools.

1. Stop the engine, remove the key. Let the engine cool.

2. Open the hood, refer to

5.4.3 Opening Hood (Highest

Position), page 289

3. Open the platform, refer to

5.5.1 Opening Platforms

(Standard Position), page 291

.

4. Turn the radiator cap (A) to the first notch to relieve

pressure before removing cap completely.

IMPORTANT:
Place a drain pan (about 8 U.S. gallons [30 liters]) under
the engine and radiator and use a deflector or hose to
prevent coolant running onto frame.
