Checking Lubricant Level and Adding Lubricant

CAUTION

Park on a flat, level surface, header on the ground, and the ground speed lever in N-DETENT position and
steering wheel locked.

DANGER

Stop engine and remove key from ignition before leaving operator's seat for any reason. A child or even a
pet could engage an idling machine.

1. Check the lubricant level every 50 hours as follows:

a. Park the windrower on level ground, shut down

engine, and remove key.

b. Under the windrower, beneath the main pumps,

locate and remove check plug (A). The lubricant
should be visible through the hole or slightly
running out.

2. Add lubricant as follows:

a. Remove breather cap (A) and add lubricant until it

runs out at the check plug.

b. Replace check plug and breather cap and tighten.

c. Operate the engine at low idle and check for leaks

at the check plug and drain plug.

Changing Lubricant

Change gearbox lubricant after the first 50 hours, and then at 500 hours as follows:

NOTE:
The engine should be warm prior to changing the oil.
