IP Config

Set the way for the interface to obtain an IP address, include:

None: Select this option if you do not want to assign an IP address for the interface.

Static Address: Select the option to manually assign an IP address and mask for the
interface. If this option is selected, you must set the IP Address and Mask fields and the
Secondary IP address and Mask fields.

DHCP: Select the option for the interface to obtain an IP address through DHCP
automatically.

BOOTP: Select the option for the interface to obtain an IP address through BOOTP
automatically.

PPP Negotiate: Select the option for the interface to obtain an IP address through PPP
negotiation.

Unnumbered: Select this option to borrow the IP address of another interface on the
same device for the interface. If this option is selected, you must select the interface
whose IP address you want to borrow in the Unnumbered Interfaces drop-down list.

Support for the way of obtaining an IP address depends on the device model and interface
type.

IP Address

Mask

If the Static Address option is selected as the way for the interface to obtain an IP address,
you must set the primary IP address and subnet mask for the interface.

The IP address cannot be set to 0.0.0.0; the length of the mask of a loopback interface is
fixed to 32 bits and not configurable.

Secondary IP
Address

Mask

If the Static Address option is selected as the way for the interface to obtain an IP address,
you must set the secondary IP address and subnet mask for the interface.

You can configure multiple secondary IP addresses for an interface. Click Add, and you can
add an IP address to the Secondary IP Address List.

The IP address cannot be set to 0.0.0.0; the length of the mask of loopback interface is fixed
to 32 bits and not configurable.

Unnumbered
Interface

If the Unnumbered option is selected as the way for the interface to obtain an IP address,
you must set the interface whose IP address is to be borrowed.

IPv6 Config

Set the way for the interface to obtain an IPv6 link-local
address, include

None: Select this option if you do not want to assign
an IPv6 link-local address to the interface.

Auto: Select this option for the system to
automatically assign an IPv6 link-local address to
the interface.

Manual: Select this option to manually assign an
IPv6 link-local address to the interface. If this option
is selected, you must set the IPv6 Link Local
Address
field.

IPv6 Link Local
Address

If the Manual option is selected as the way for the
interface to obtain an IPv6 link-local address, you must
set an IPv6 link-local address for the interface.

IPv6 unicast address: Set an IPv6 global unicast
address or site-local address for an interface.

IPv6 unicast
config

EUI64 encoding: Specify an IPv6 global unicast address
or site local address in IEEE EUI-64 format. The prefix
of the address is the specified prefix, and the interface
identifier is converted from the MAC address of the
interface.

Support for the IPv6 address
configuration of the interface
depends on the device model.
