dhcp-server

Configures the MSS DHCP server.

Use of the MSS DHCP server to allocate client addresses is intended for
temporary, demonstration deployments and not for production networks.
It is recommended that you do not use the MSS DHCP server to allocate
client addresses in a production network.

Syntax

set interface

vlan-id ip dhcp-server [enable |

disable

][start ip-addr1 stop ip-addr2][dns-domain

domain-name][primary-dns ip-addr [secondary-dns ip-addr]]

[default-router ip-addr]

vlan-id

— VLAN name or number.

enable

— Enables the DHCP server.

disable

— Disables the DHCP server.

start

ip-addr1

— Specifies the beginning address of the address

range (also called the address pool).

„

stop

ip-addr2

— Specifies the ending address of the address range.

„

dns-domain

domain-name

— Name of the DHCP client’s default DNS

domain.

primary-dns

ip-addr

[secondary-dns ip-addr]

— IP addresses of the DHCP client’s DNS

servers.

default-router

ip-addr

— IP address of the DHCP client’s default

router.

Defaults — The DHCP server is enabled by default on a new
(unconfigured) WXR100, in order to provide an IP address to the host
connected to the WX for access to the Web Quick Start. On all switch
models, the DHCP server is enabled and cannot be disabled for directly
connected MAPs.

The DHCP server is disabled by default for any other use.
