WEB BROWSER-BASED CONFIGURATION
• PCIE Gen3
The “Disabled” option is used to force PCIe running Gen2
mode for compatible issue under Gen3 slot. You must restart
the computer twice for the PCIE Gen3 setting to take effect.
• SATA MACH.2 Striping
Seagate has been released on dual-actuator hard drives—
drives with two independently controlled sets of read/write
heads. The total of capacity is presented to the host system
as one device with the first 50% of the LBAs mapping to the
primary actuator, and the second 50% of the LBAs mapping
to the secondary actuator. The SATA HDD firmware will span
both primary actuator and secondary actuator full capacity
of the drive. Enable the "SATA MACH.2 Striping" option for
controller's firmware to increase performance by stripping
both primary actuator and secondary actuator full capacity
of the drive.
The default option is "Enable". Restart the
computer
for this option setting to take effect.
Warning:
If you have created volume using a
firmware version
below 1.64
, please
disable
this feature
before roaming
the RAID set
.
Note:
Do not change this setting arbitrarily, as doing so will af-
fect the data accuracy.
Since this feature is enabled by default on firmware ver
-
sion 1.64 and above, you
cannot
go back to an older ver-
sion firmware after creating volumes, that will cause data
corruption.
This feature is not supported backwards.
