B-5 Installation
Follow these steps to attach the flash-based backup module to the
ARC-1883 RAID controller.
1. Turn off the system power, and unplug the power cords.
2. Remove the mounting screw and existing bracket from the rear
panel behind the selected PCIe slot.
3. Insert the FBM in the PCIe slot and press down gently, but
firmly, to ensure that the card is properly seated in the slot.
4. Screw the bracket into the computer chassis.
5. Remove the cable that is included in the ARC-1883-CAP/BAT kit
box. The cable has a 14-pin connector on both ends.
6. Insert one end of the cable into the 14-pin cable connector on
the 12Gb/s SAS RAID adapter and the other end into the 14-
pin J4 cable connector on the FBM with super-capacitor packs,
as shown in below figure.
Note:
The FBM status will be shown on the web browser of "Hard -
ware Monitor Information" screen.
