Ingesting media by using an Encode Server

Encode profiles

You can save a set of encode settings, together with the selected clip template, as an encode

profile that you can recall and use repeatedly. The dialog displays a list of saved profiles in the

Encode Profiles pane.

Note:

You should ensure the Encode Server is running on a machine that is powerful enough to

handle recordings at the specified bit rates.

The Encode Server automatically detects the display resolution of the digital video source.

Specify the encode settings and asset template for a recording

1.

Click Settings to display the Encode Settings dialog.

2.

Select a preset in the Preset box.

The dialog displays additional settings – if there are any – for the selected preset.

3.

Set options for any additional settings.

4.

In the Audio Channels Format boxes, specify the audio format for the audio channels from

which you want the Encode Server to capture content.

5.

Select an asset template in the Clip Template box.

6.

Do one of the following.

Click OK to close the Encode Settings dialog if you only want to use them for the current

session and do not want to save them as an encode profile.

Save the settings as a new encode profile (see below).

Save the settings for a recording as a new encode profile

After setting the properties (preset, audio channels, clip template) for a recording, you may

save these as an encode profile. The profile becomes available to all system users.
1.

Click Save as profile to open the Profile Name dialog.

2.

Enter a name for the encode profile in the Profile Name box; click OK to close the dialog.

The name of the encode profile appears in the Encode Profile selection pane.

3.

Click OK to close the Encode Settings dialog.

iTX saves the encode profile.
