Preparing media items for playout

Note:

Deleting a file does not delete any associated asset from the System Database.

If you delete all the files that are associated with a video clip, that clip becomes a

placeholder clip; i.e. a database asset with no media file. You can re-use the asset by

encoding new media; or by placing a new file with the same name as the deleted file in the

Media Store Inbox.

As well as viewing information about files in different locations, you can use the features under

the Locations tab to:

Open the folder that contains a file.

Delete any of the files associated with a single asset.

Delete any of the files for a batch of selected assets.

Add language tags to audio tracks.

Manually group mono audio tracks of a broadcast file to allow iTX to use them in a stereo

or Dolby E output signal.

You should only use this operation to check a file is in a specified location. If you want to

in the System Database.
