The Smart Caching Utilization screen is an administrator’s resource for service platform storage
capacity and data availability. Use this screen to help assess the number of requests for cached
Web content maintained locally on the service platform versus the total number of requests for all
the service platform’s locally maintained data.
To review service platform Smart Cache utilization:
1. Select the Statistics menu from the Web UI.
2. Select a Wireless Controller node from the left navigation pane.
3. Select Smart Caching and expand the menu to reveal its sub menu items .
4. Select Utilization.

5. Refer to the Storage field to assess the Current Size (KB) of the service platform’s disk capacity
available to cached Web content. The Maximum Size (KB) provides the maximum amount of
storage space (in KB) available for the temporary storage of Web content.
6. Refer to the Utilization table.
The following cache utilization data is available to an administrator:
Duration Lists the duration period cache data (Web content) has been available on the service platform’s
local disk storage.
Total Data (KB) Displays the total amount of data (in KB) currently utilizing service platform storage space. Review
this amount versus to the amounts available to the service platform to assess whether some data
requires removal for the local storage of highly consumptive content like video or voice.
Cache Data (KB) Lists the amount of cached data currently utilizing service platform storage space. Refer to the
Content Types screen to further refine the Web content data types currently utilizing service
platform cache storage space.
Bandwidth WAN (Kbps) Displays the bandwidth available to data transfers over the service platform’s WAN port.
