Command Usage

Bridge priority is used in selecting the root device, root port, and designated port. The device with
the highest priority (i.e., lower numeric value) becomes the STA root device. However, if all devices
have the same priority, the device with the lowest MAC address will then become the root device.

Example

Console(config)#spanning-tree priority 40000

Console(config)#

spanning-tree mst configuration

This command changes to Multiple Spanning Tree (MST) configuration mode.

Default Setting

No VLANs are mapped to any MST instance.
The region name is set the switch’s MAC address.
