4.3.3 Tool Life Control Function *
When the tool life control function is used, the tools are controlled in groups and the service life
of the tool is set for individual tools. Tools are selected by tool group and if a selected tool is used
to the preset life, it is replaced with another tool in the same tool group according to the preset tool
selection order.
(1) Tool Life Control Specifications
(a) Number of tool life controlled tools
With the tool life control function, tool life can be controlled for up to 256 tools. The tools
are grouped for this function. Parameter pm0009 is used to set the number of tool groups
and the number of tools in each group.
