5.3 Layer Definition Parameters

MATERIAL INDEX . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 1 to 24

This indicates which of the predefined materials is to be run with the Layer
being defined. Values range from 1 to 24, corresponding to the materials listed
in the Material Directory. The default value is 1. This value cannot be changed
while running a process. It is not permitted to enter a value corresponding to an
undefined material.

Description

F1

COPY

Identify the layer(s) to be copied using the TAG/UNTAG (F5)
function. After tagging the layer(s), move the cursor to the
location where the sequence of layers is to be inserted. This
must be done before the COPY function is selected. Once
the layers are identified (tagged) and the cursor is
positioned, select the COPY function. This will place the
cursor at the “# of times to copy” parameter. Enter the
number of times the layer or sequence of layers should be
copied and then press the enter (E) key. Select the COPY
function a second time to complete the copying of layers into
the process. The sequence of layers will be inserted at the
cursor’s last position before COPY was selected. Untag the
layers after copying is completed.

DELETE

Select this function to delete the tagged layer or sequence
of tagged layers.

F3

PAGE RIGHT Select this function to advance beyond the currently

displayed four layers.

F4

PAGE LEFT

Select this function to view previously displayed layers.

F5

TAG/UNTAG

Use this function to identify the layer or layers to copy (or
delete) selecting the TAG/UNTAG function will designate the
tagged layer in reverse video. Untag will return the layer to
normal video.

NOTE: Once a layer or sequence of layers is tagged, use

the cursor keys to select the position within the
process to copy the layer(s).

PROCESS

Select this function to return to the Process Directory.
