Remote Communications

7.1 Remote Communication

Configuration Overview

There are two types of remote communication interfaces which can be used by a
host computer to control or monitor the instrument. An RS-232C communications
port is standard equipment. Additionally, an IEEE-GPIB interface may be installed.
Device dependent information and protocol selection must be provided before an
interface can be used

Configuration of the Remote Communications is initiated by pressing the F3 key
(I/O) in the Program display and then selecting the REMOTE COMMUNICATIONS
function (F5) in the I/0 display. This will invoke the Remote Communications
Display (see

Figure 7-2

). Upon entry, the cursor will be found at the last referenced

communications parameter. The parameters are contained on a single page.

NOTE: Communication stops when entering ’Source Maintenance’ and ’Cross

Talk Calibrate’ modes.
