+CMGL - List Messages

<index> - message position in the storage
<stat> - message status
<oa/da> - originator/destination address, string type , represented in
the currently selected character set (see +CSCS)
<alpha> - string type alphanumeric representation of <da> or <oa>,
corresponding to an entry found in the phonebook; used
character set is the one selected with command +CSCS.
<scts> - TP-Service Centre Time Stamp in Time String Format
<tooa/toda> - type of number <oa/da>
129 - number in national format
145 - number in international format (contains the "+")
<length> - text length
<data> - TP-User-Data
• If <dcs> indicates that GSM03.38 default alphabet is used , each
character of GSM alphabet will be converted into current TE
character set (see +CSCS)
• If <dcs> indicates that 8-bit or UCS2 data coding scheme is
used, each 8-bit octet will be converted into two IRA character
long hexadecimal number (e.g. octet 0x2A will be converted as
two characters 0x32 0x41)
If there is at least one message delivery confirm to be listed the
representation format is:
+CMGL: <index>,<stat>,<fo>,<mr>,,,<scts>,<dt>,<st>[<CR><LF>
+CMGL: <index>,<stat>,<fo>,<mr>,<ra>,<tora>,<scts>,<dt>,<st>
[...]]
where
<index> - message position in the storage
<stat> - message status
<fo> - first octet of the message PDU
<mr> - message reference number; GSM 03.40 TP-Message-
Reference in integer format
<scts> - arrival time of the message to the SC
<dt> - sending time of the message
<st> - message status as coded in the PDU
Note: If parameter is omitted the command returns the list of sms with
“REC UNREAD” status
.
Note: the order in which the messages are reported by +CMGL is the
same order in which these messages have been processed by the
module
