This command is obsolete. It’s suggested to use the couple #SGACT and
#SO instead of it.

3.5.7.5.8 Query DNS - #QDNS

#QDNS - Query DNS

SELINT 0 / 1

AT#QDNS=
<host name>

Execution command executes a DNS query to solve the host name into an
IP address.

Parameter:
<host name> - host name, string type.

If the DNS query is successful then the IP address will be reported in the
result code, as follows:

#QDNS: <host name>,<IP address>

where
<host name> - string type
<IP address> - string type, in the format “xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx”

Note: the command has to activate the GPRS context if it was not
previously activated. In this case the context is deactivated after the DNS
query.

Note

This command requires that the authentication parameters are correctly set
and that the GPRS network is present.

Note Issuing

command

#QDNS will overwrite <remote addr> setting for

command #SKTSET.


#QDNS - Query DNS

[<host name>]

Execution command executes a DNS query to solve the host name into an
IP address.

Parameter:
<host name> - host name, string type.

If the DNS query is successful then the IP address will be reported in the
result code, as follows:

#QDNS: <host name>,<IP address>
