HAPSITE Smart Plus Operating Manual

CAUTION

The NEG pump becomes very hot when in operation. The
software-controlled sequence provides a cool down
period before removing the pump provides a cool down
period time to cool. This sequence must not be
bypassed. In addition to the danger of burns from
handling the hot flange, the reactive metal alloys within
the pump can ignite if exposed to atmospheric pressure
while hot. If this should occur, drop the pump into a
bucket of sand and cover the hot NEG pump with
additional sand. If this step is not practical, set the pump
on the black plastic base on a non-flammable surface.
The NEG pump will burn out in a few minutes.

When the screen shows Vent Manifold Has Been Completed, unplug the
NEG Pump’s black cable from the front panel by loosening the locking ring,
then pull the connector straight back.

WARNING

Burn Hazard. DO NOT disconnect the NEG Pump’s black
cable before receiving the "Vent Manifold Has Been
Completed" message. Disconnecting the black cable will
also disconnect the temperature sensor. Due to the
disconnection, the temperature sensor may read that the
NEG is cold, when in fact, the NEG is still hot.
