In example (B) of Figure 7.6, the two foreground (white) objects correspond
to the two white rectangles. These rectangles stand out in the binarized image
as a consequence of the settings of the binary thresholds.

Binary Gaging Mode: Background Objects

Background objects are those objects containing black pixels that lie
completely between the first and last detected edges on the axis. In example
(A) of Figure 7.7 (page 7–10), the five background (black) objects
correspond to the five black rectangles.

In example (B) of Figure 7.7, the three background (black) objects
correspond to the three dark rectangles in the image. These objects stand out
in the binarized image as a consequence of the settings of the binary
thresholds.
