If you highlight one of the tool names in the center list, however, additional
names will appear in the right list. At this point, you must highlight a signal
name in that list, and then pick the

button. When you do, the

highlighted signal name will appear in the

Discrete I/O

Editor panel, as

shown in Figure 9.6 (B).

The output signals are examined in more detail in the timing charts later in
this chapter.

Time Selections

As indicated earlier, the “

Time

” field designates parameters for the

corresponding input or output signal:

For input signals, the

Time

parameter designates the minimum time

separation between the leading edge of successive trigger signals. The
purpose of this setting is to “debounce” inputs from mechanical devices.
