Environment Menu Selections

10–2

Go On–Line –– When you pick this item, the CVIM2 system goes
online, and is enabled to perform inspections using the configuration file
identified in the

Config : xx:<filename>

line. (If the system is already

online, the type is shaded.)

Go Off–Line –– When you pick this item, the online CVIM2 system goes
offline, and terminates inspections using the configuration file identified
in the

Config : xx:<filename>

line. (If the system is already offline, the

type is shaded.)

The remainder of this chapter describes the functions listed above.

When you pick the

Revision

item in the

Environment

menu,

a CVIM2

Revision

box appears, similar to the one illustrated in Figure 10.2.

Figure 10.2 Selecting the CVIM2 Revision Information Box

The

Series

and

Revision

levels pertain to the CVIM2 hardware, while the

Firmware Revision

level pertains to the basic operating system software. If

an option package is installed, its name and revision level also appears in this
box.

The configuration process, which creates all of the configuration files that
are required for an application, is discussed in detail in Chapter 4, Inspection
Configuration
, starting on page 4–2. After completing that process, when
you then pick the

Config : xx:<filename>

item in the

Environment

menu,

the

Config Files

menu reappears, as illustrated by the example in

Figure 10.3 (page 10–3).

Initially, the

Config Files

menu highlights the currently selected

configuration file (

EE:FrontLabel

in the example). To select a different

configuration file, pick (highlight) the appropriate configuration file name.
When you do, the new name appears in the

Config

field (along with the

corresponding

Acq. Config

,

Discrete I/O

, and

Message

file names). After

highlighting the other configuration file name, pick the

button to exit

to the main menu bar.
