Filter

The entry in the

Filter

data field determines which files (if any) will appear

in the file list. The

Filte

r data field in Figure 11.1 (page 11–1) shows a

single asterisk (*), which is the default entry in this field. It is used as a
“wildcard” symbol, which means that it can be used as a substitute for all, or
part, of a file name (not file type). When used alone, the asterisk causes all
files to be listed.

The question mark (?) can be used as a wildcard symbol for any single
character in a file name. Multiple question marks can be used, if needed.

To change the current entry in the

Filter

field, pick the

Filter

field. When you

do, the keyboard appears, asking “

Enter Filter

.” After entering a new file

filter, press the

button on the keyboard. At that point, the file list will

be amended according to the new filter.

Figure 11.3 illustrates using the (*) wildcard to amend the file list.
