File Functions

11–2

File List Column Headings

The

File

panel contains a scrolling list that displays the files in the currently

selected device. The column headings for the file list are described briefly as
follows:

File Type –– This heading shows the name of the file type for each listed
file (see the File Types section on page 11–4, for details).

Size –– This heading shows the size, in bytes, of each file in the list.

Name –– This heading shows the name of each file.

Devices and Device Status

To the right of the file list in Figure 11.1 (page 11–1) is the device list (see
the Devices: Definitions and Descriptions section on page 11–6, for
details). Below the file list are the status messages pertaining to the currently
selected device.

You can change to a different device by simply highlighting it in the device
list. At that point, the file list displays the files in the newly selected device,
and the device status fields are updated to reflect the status details for that
device.

The status messages shown for the EE: device in Figure 11.1 are typical of
the status messages for the V1:, V2; and RM: devices; that is, these messages
all indicate the status of the selected device, the memory available and
memory used.

When you highlight the MC: device, however, one of the following two
types of status messages will appear, as shown in Figure 11.2:

Memory card is installed:

In the first instance, the memory card is not installed in the front panel slot of
the CVIM2 module; thus, the file list is blank, and the

button is

shaded.
