Set reference

)

Note!

Setting the reference (homing) is required ...

ƒ

in the case of initial commissioning of an absolute value encoder
(multi−turn/single−turn);

ƒ

after the replacement of an encoder, controller, or motor;

ƒ

if modifications regarding the mechanics are carried out.

ƒ

When homing is carried out, the current position is defined as zero position (home
position).

ƒ

Reference setting can be carried out in all connectable encoder systems.

ƒ

For setting the reference, the homing status "Reference known" (HomePosAvailable)
has to be reset (C4045/bit 13 = 0).
If "Reference know" has already been set (C4045/Bit 13 = 1), first the "Reset
HomePosAvailable" profile function has to be executed (C3095/x = 102) to reset the
status.

Set reference for absolute value encoders (multi−turn)

Reference setting does not influence the internal value of the absolute value encoder. The
ECSxP axis module "remembers" the zero position (home position) via corresponding
offset variables with regard to the overflow point of the absolute value encoder. The axis
module is not limited to the 4096 displayable revolutions in the absolute value encoder.
Thus the maximum display range (like for the resolver) is provided to the module. The
condition for this is that the absolute value encoder in the switched−off state is not moved
more than ± 2048 revolutions.
