Operating mode of the software limit position monitoring

Before positioning is started, the software limit position monitoring checks if the target
position is within the valid traversing range defined by the software limit positions. If this
is not the case, positioning is not started and a fault message is indicated.

If the current position is beyond the software limit positions, the defined direction of
movement of the drive is checked in addition to the position in case of a setpoint−based
monitoring of the software limit positions (C3042 = 0) . If the drive stands still or if the tool
is to move towards the permissible traversing range, no fault is triggered. Only if the tool
is to travel further away from the permissible traversing range, a fault message is output
and a QSP is activated.

With the actual value−based monitoring of the software limit positions (C3042 = 1), the
current actual position of the drive is checked. If the current actual position is beyond the
permissible traversing range, a fault message is output and a QSP is activated. When the
fault message is triggered, the status changes to "Trouble".

In "ManualJog" the software limit positions cannot be exceeded because the drive
traverses to the software limit positions.

When is the software limit position monitoring deactivated?

The monitoring of the software limit positions is deactivated if:

ƒ

Both software limit positions (C3040/C3041) are set to "0".

ƒ

Homing is executed.

ƒ

Status bit Stat1.HomePosAvailable = 0 (home position not known.)
