"Point−to−point" positioning

6.17.2.1

Absolute positioning

Application: axes with a limited traversing range (e. g. palletizers)

C3095/x = 0

ƒ

The drive carries out a "point−to−point" positioning in the absolute measuring
system.

ƒ

The target position is defined as definite absolute position with regard to the zero
position of the measuring system. The distance to be travelled results from the
distance between the actual position and the absolute target position.

Preconditions

ƒ

The drive must be referenced (status bit Stat1.HomePosAvailable = 1).

6.17.2.2

Relative positioning in the continuous measuring system

C3095/x = 1

ƒ

The drive carries out a relative "point−to−point" positioning in the continuous
measuring system (incremental dimension).
Application: roll feed

ƒ

The defined target position corresponds to the distance to be travelled. Thus, the
drive continues to travel by exactly the defined distance from the current position
on.
Before positioning is started, the path integrators are reset in the continuous
measuring system. The following error, however, remains stored in order that no jerk
occurs in the drive.

ƒ

Status bit Stat1.HomePosAvailable is reset.

Preconditions

ƒ

No homing required.
