How to set up the equipment

Follow steps 1-10 as described in
section 2.3.

11. Clip the Antenna Arm to the

GPS Antenna. Screw the Radio
Antenna onto the Arm.

12. Attach the Radio Modem in its

housing to the GPS Receiver.

13. Connect the Radio Antenna to

the Radio Modem using the
1.2m Antenna Cable.

14. Switch the System On using the

On/Off button on the Receiver.

When Using the GAD31
adapter and GRT144 carrier,

ensure that the Antenna and GAD31
assembly slide down the full length of
the GRT144 stub. An incorrectly
mounted Antenna will have a direct
effect on your results.

In wet conditions the Re-
ceiver can be placed in the

transport case during use for extra
protection. Try to shut the case as
completely as possible.

If the Receiver is left in the
case during use in tempera-

tures exceeding 25°C, the lid should
be left open. Refer to Appendix A for
operating and storage temperatures.

Use an external battery such
as GEB71 to extend the

operating time past 6 hours.
