9.3.3.1.1.1 Interface Configuration > Ethernet Interface > VLAN Table

Open the nested VLAN Table from the Ethernet Interface page (Managed Switch Mode only).

Selection

Hot Key Description

VLAN01 – VLAN08

1 – 8

Type a VLAN ID (1 through 4094).

Delete VLAN Entry

D

Set the VLAN Entry number (1 to 8) to delete that entry from the table.

Base [#]

B

Select Base and then type a number to display or edit a different set of

eight of up to 4093 definable VLAN ID entries.

Example 1 – If you have eight existing VLAN entries: Type ‘9’ to create a

new VLAN ID 9. The VLAN Table page will refresh and now display

VLAN Entries 9-16.

Example 2 – If you want to edit VLAN IDs 32-40: Type ‘B’, and then type

‘32’ to select the Base value of 32. The VLAN Table page will refresh to

display VLAN IDs 32 through 40.

In the default VLAN Table, Figure 9-10 shows where there is a Native VLAN and a Management

VLAN (default VLAN ID 1). These can be changed to other VLAN IDs, but they cannot be deleted.

If an untagged packet arrives at the Packet Processor, it will egress as a tagged packet with the

defined Native VLAN ID.

You may add VLAN entries into the VLAN Table, and forward VLANs over the satellite. You also

need a VLAN entry on the receiving CDM-570A/570AL to receive the VLAN traffic – they will

egress as tagged VLANs.

When a tagged packet arrives at the Ethernet port, it is forwarded only if there is a matching

VLAN entry in the VLAN Table; it will egress as tagged. If there is no matching VLAN in the VLAN

Table, then the tagged packet is dropped.
