Do these steps (the applicable CLI “hot key” is shown in brackets [#]):
Step Task
1 From the CLI Main Menu:
Select Operations and Maintenance submenu [O].
2 From the Operations and Maintenance menu:
Select Database Operations submenu [D].
3 From the Database Operations menu:
Select Restore Factory Default option [R].
4 The following prompt appears:
Are you sure you want to restore factory default settings?
WARNING: Choosing Yes will restore factory defaults and then
reboot..
Type ‘y’ to confirm. This erases user configurations and restores CDM-IP factory default configuration.
5 Proceed either to Sec. D.2.5 to perform the Managed Switch Mode configuration, or to Sect. 0 to perform the
Router Mode configuration.
D.2.5 Configuring a Managed Switch Point-to-Point System
The procedures outlined in this section result in the configuration shown in Figure D-3.

D.2.5.1 Configure User PCs
Do these steps:
Step Task
1 For User PC 1:
• Set the IP Address to 172.16.10.11;
• Set the mask to 255.255.255.0.
2 For User PC 2:
• Set the IP Address to 172.16.10.12;
• Set the mask to 255.255.255.0.
3 Reboot the PCs (if required).
