SET SWITCH PORT INTRUSIONACTION

Syntax

set switch port=

port

intrusionaction=discard|trap|disable

Parameters

port

Specifies the port where you want to change the

intrusion action. You can specify more than one port
at a time. For instructions on how to enter port
numbers, refer to “Port Numbers in Commands” on
page 48.

intrusionaction

Specifies the action the port takes when it receives an

invalid frame. The options are:

discard

The switch discards invalid frames on the
port. This is the default.

trap

The switch discards invalid frames on the
port and sends an SNMP trap.

disable

The switch discards invalid frames on the
port, sends an SNMP trap, and disables
the port.

Description

This command, which applies only to ports operating in the Limited
security mode, defines the response of the switch when a port receives an
invalid frame.

Example

The following command sets the intrusion action to trap on ports 12 and
21:

set switch port=12,21 intrusionaction=trap

switchport port-security violation protect

To set a port to discard invalid packets and to send SNMP traps:

switchport port-security violation restrict
