The GigE mode receiver architecture includes:

Word aligner

Rate matcher

8B/10B decoder

Receiver phase compensation FIFO buffer

Word Aligner

The word aligner is composed of a pattern detector and synchronization
state machines. The word aligner cannot be bypassed, but if the
application is not using the rx_enacdet signal, the word aligner does
not alter the data.
