<mode>:
multiplexer transparency mechanism
0 basic option
<subset>: multiplexer control channel set up
A virtual channel may subsequently be set up differently but if
there is no settings negotiation, the virtual channel will be set up
according to the control channel <subset> setting.
0 UIH frames used only
<port_speed>: transmission rate
1 9600 bit/s
2 19200 bit/s
3 38400 bit/s
4 57600 bit/s
5 115200 bit/s
6 230400 bit/s
7 460800 bit/s

<N1>: maximum frame size
1-255 default value: 31
<T1>: acknowledgement timer in units of 20 ms.
