<status>: status fo the V42bis use
0 disabled (default value)
1 enabled
<direction>: DCE-DCE data compression type
NONE data compression is not in use
V42B V42bis is in use in both directions
V42B RD V42bis is in use in receive direction only
V42B TD V42bis is in use in transmit direction only
13.9.4 Parameter Storage
<status> is stored in EEPROM using the AT&W command. The default value can be
restored using AT&F.
