In the unlikely event that the flash chip should fail, the analyzer will continue to operate
with just the DOM. However, all configuration information will be lost, requiring that
the unit be recalibrated.
13.5.2. Sensor Module
Electronically, the 6200T sensor module is a group of components that: create the UV
light that initiates the fluorescence reaction between SO
2
and O
3
; sense the intensity of
that fluorescence; generate various
electronic signals needed by the analyzer to
determine the SO
2
concentration of the sample gas (refer to Section 13.1.1), and sense
and control key environmental conditions such as the temperature of the sample gas and
the PMT.

These components are divided into two significant subassemblies: the sample chamber
and the PMT assembly.
