Enable CFM globally on the switch with the

ethernet cfm enable

command.

Enable CFM on the local MEPs with the

ethernet cfm port-enable

command.

7.

Enable continuity check operations with the

ethernet cfm cc enable

command.

8.

Enable cross-check operations with the

ethernet cfm mep crosscheck

command.

Other configuration changes may be required for your particular

environment, such as adjusting the interval at which continuity check

messages are sent (

), or setting the start-up delay for the cross-

check operation (

). You can also enable SNMP traps for events

discovered by continuity check messages (

page 1331

) or cross-check

messages (

page 1335

).

ethernet cfm ais

level

This command configures the maintenance level at which Alarm Indication

Signal (AIS) information will be sent within the specified MA. Use the no

form restore the default setting.

ethernet cfm ais level level-id md domain-name ma ma-name
no ethernet cfm ais level md domain-name ma ma-name

level-id – Maintenance level at which AIS information will be sent.

(Range: 0-7)
domain-name – Domain name. (Range: 1-43 alphanumeric

characters)
ma-name – Maintenance association name. (Range: 1-44

alphanumeric characters)

The configured AIS level must be higher than the maintenance level of the

domain containing the specified MA.
