Use the IP Service > DHCP > Client page to specify the DHCP client

identifier for a VLAN interface.

The class identifier is used identify the vendor class and configuration of

the switch to the DHCP server, which then uses this information to

decide on how to service the client or the type of information to return.

The general framework for this DHCP option is set out in RFC 2132

(Option 60). This information is used to convey configuration settings

or other identification information about a client, but the specific string

to use should be supplied by your service provider or network

administrator.

ARAMETERS

These parameters are displayed:

VLAN – ID of configured VLAN.

Vendor Class ID – The following options are supported when the

check box is marked to enable this feature:

Default – The default string is GTL-2691.

Text – A text string. (Range: 1-32 characters)

Hex – A hexadecimal value. (Range: 1-64 characters)

To configure a DHCP client identifier:

1.

Click IP Service, DHCP, Client.

2.

Mark the check box to enable this feature. Select the default setting, or
the format for a vendor class identifier. If a non-default value is used,

enter a text string or hexadecimal value.

3.

Click Apply.
