6.5 Communication phases/network management
Regarding communication via the system bus, the device distinguishes between the
following states:


In every state, the entire initialisation or parts of it can be restarted by transferring
the corresponding network management telegrams.
State Explanation
"Initialisation" Initialisation starts when the device is switched on.
• In this phase, the device does not take part in the bus data transfer.
• All CAN-relevant parameters are overwritten with their default values.
• After initialisation has been completed, the device is automatically set to
the "pre-operational" state.
"Pre-operational"
(before being ready for operation)
The device can receive parameter data. Process data are ignored.
"Operational"
(ready for operation)
The device can receive parameter data and process data!
"Stopped" Only network management telegrams can be received.
