Node guarding protocol

The node guarding protocol is used to monitor the connection between the NMT master

and the NMT slave(s) within a CAN network. If the regenerative power supply module has

been parameterised as an NMT master, it can monitor a maximum of 32 NMT slaves.

Schematic procedure

[6-9]

Node guarding protocol

1. At cyclic time intervals, the NMT master sends a data telegram referred to as “remote

transmission request” (RTR) to the NMT slave.

2. The NMT slave then sends a response telegram back to the NMT master.
