2. Under Incoming Cyclic I/O Data, in the Location for Incoming Data box, type

the starting address where the data sent by the I/O controller each RPI will be written.

Use the Browse button to use the Address Selection Tool to find the location you

want to use.

Notice that the length of the Output Data is specified in the PLC, not in RMCTools.

Configuration Data

When establishing an Input/Output or Input Only connection, the PLC can use

Configuration Data to override the Address of Outgoing Data and Location for

Incoming Data fields in RMCTools as described in the Input Data and Output Data

sections above. For most applications, it is easier to leave RMCTools in control of these

settings, and therefore Configuration Data is not used.
Input/Output Connections:
To override the Address of Outgoing Data and Location for Incoming Data fields for

an Input/Output connection, select the Input/Output with Config connection type from

the EDS file, and then fill in the following fields in your PLC’s EtherNet/IP configuration

tool:

Using a Generic EDS File

Some PLC EtherNet/IP configuration tools do not support importing third-party EDS files.

In these cases, additional connection configuration information usually must be entered

into a generic device template. The following chart provides the correct values for various

connection settings that may be required by your EtherNet/IP configuration tool:
