Single Duct - Cooling Only

Sequence of Operation

The Terminal Unit Controller (TUC-2R) operates in the “Occupied”
mode unless switched to “Unoccupied” by a command from a
WCC III – MCD central processor. The optional tenant override
button on the space sensor overrides the WCC III – MCD central
processor from unoccupied mode to occupied mode.

On the initial power-up or when the Terminal Unit Controller (TUC-
2R) receives a calibrate command, the Terminal Unit Controller
(TUC-2R) actuator will drive to the full clockwise mechanical
stop and then back to the full counter clockwise mechanical stop in
order to determine where the maximum travel limits are.

Occupied Cooling Mode

The Terminal Unit Controller (TUC-2R) changes to the cooling
mode when the supply air temperature as sensed by the duct sensor,
or as received from the WCC III - MCD central processor, indicates
the supply temperature is below the space temperature. As the
space temperature rises above the cooling setpoint, the actuator
drives from it’s adjustable minimum to maximum position.

When the Terminal Unit Controller (TUC-2R) space temperature
is below the cooling setpoint, the Terminal Unit Controller (TUC-
2R) will position the damper actuator to the minimum position
setpoint. This minimum position setpoint may be changed by
the system operator at any position from zero to the maximum
damper position. When the Terminal Unit Controller (TUC-2R)
space temperature is 4 degrees F. or more above the setpoint, the
Terminal Unit Controller (TUC-2R) will position the damper
actuator to the maximum damper position setpoint. At any space
temperature between the temperature setpoint and setpoint plus 4
degrees F, the Terminal Unit Controller (TUC-2R) damper actuator
is proportional to the deviation from setpoint.

Unoccupied Mode

In the unoccupied mode (Night time), the unoccupied heating and
unoccupied cooling setpoints are applied.

Force Mode

On a command from the WCC III - MCD central processor, the
Terminal Unit Controller (TUC-2R) damper actuator can be forced
to the full open position, or to the full closed position.
