WCC III Technical Guide

4-29

EMS Offset

On a command from the WCC III – MCD central processor,
typically during peak load demand periods, the Terminal Unit
Controller (TUC-2R) will increase the cooling setpoint and also
decrease the heating setpoint by 2 ºF.

Options

If the Terminal Unit Controller (TUC-2R) space temperature
sensor is provided with an optional “Warmer/Cooler” offset
slide potentiometer, the occupants can change the Terminal
Unit Controller (TUC-2R) programmed setpoint plus or minus
an amount equal to the limit set by the system operator. If the
Terminal Unit Controller (TUC-2R) space temperature sensor
is provided with an optional “Tenant Override Button”, this will
allow the tenant to change from the unoccupied mode to override
mode for a time period that is determined by the system operator.
In the override mode, Terminal Unit Controller (TUC-2R) sends a
signal to the AHU controller indicating an “override”.

NOTE:

The VAVBOX TUC-2R controller will go into an

override condition for the user programmed amount of time
when this button is pushed even if the unit is already in a
occupied condition.

Features

In addition to being able to set and monitor the Terminal Unit
Controller (TUC-2R) space temperature and its damper actuator
position, the system operator can read the amount of offset the
occupant has applied to the thermostat setpoint. The system
operator can also set alarm limits and schedules as well as trend
log space temperature, and hours of tenant override. The Heating/
Cooling demand for the Terminal Unit Controller (TUC-2R) is
also displayed.
