3.2
Earthing
Note
•
Connect the earth terminal of the MTR-DCI with low im-
pedance (short cable with large cross section) to the
earth potential.
This prevents interference from electromagnetic sources
and ensures electromagnetic compatibility in accordance
with EMC directives.
To connect the MTR-DCI to the earth potential use
only the
following earthing connection:
–
Earthing strap at the free end of the power supply cable;
see assembly instructions for cable type
KPWR-MC-1-SUB-9HC-... (see chapter 3.3.2)
Caution
Earth or mass loops can make EMC safety measures inef-
fective and allow high compensating currents to destroy
the motor unit.
•
Connect
only the cable screen of the power supply cable
to the functional earth FE.
•
Do
not connect the GND connection to the housing,
screening or functional earth FE!
•
Never connect one of the power supply connections (see
chapter 3.2, A1, A2) to the FE or the housing.
This will avoid damaging the device and impairing protec-
tion against electromagnetic interference (EMC).
