34 ARP Inspection Commands

34.1 arp access-list

To define an ARP access list or add clauses at the end of a predefined list, use the arp access-list
command in global configuration mode. To remove an ARP access list, use the no form of this
command.


Command Syntax

arp access-list name
no arp access-list
name

name

Specifies the access control list name.


Default

No ARP ACLs are defined.

Examples

This example shows how to define an ARP access list named static-hosts:
Switch(config)# arp access-list static-hosts

To permit ARPs from hosts that are configured for static IP when DAI is enabled and to define an ARP
access list and apply it to a VLAN, use the ip arp inspection filter vlan command in global
configuration mode. To disable this application, use the no form of this command.


Command Syntax

ip arp inspection filter arp-acl-name vlan vlan-range [static]
no ip arp inspection filter
arp-acl-name vlan vlan-range

arp-acl-name

ARP access control list name.

vlan-range

VLAN number or range; valid values are from 1 to 4094.

static

(Optional) Specifies that the access control list should be applied statically.
