40.56 boot system

To specify the system image that the switch loads at startup, use one of the following boot system
commands in privileged EXEC mode.


Command Syntax

boot system file-name

file-name

The file name that will be used to load at starup.


Command Mode

Privileged EXEC


Usage


Examples

The following example is sample dialog from the boot system command.
Switch# boot system flash:/boot/

Internal-1.0.0.25.img

To reload the operating system, use the reload command in privileged EXEC mode.

reload


Command Mode

Privileged EXEC


Usage

The reload command halts the system. If the system is set to restart on error, it reboots itself. Use the
reload command after configuration information is entered into a file and saved to the startup
configuration.
