Action

On a Brocade 8000 switch, restart or power cycle the switch.

Probable Cause

Indicates that the standby control processor (CP) does not support N_Port ID Virtualization (NPIV)
functionality, but the switch has some NPIV devices logged into the fabric.

Recommended

Action

Load a firmware version on standby that supports NPIV functionality, using the firmwareDOwnload
command.

Probable Cause

Indicates that the switch port is disabled due to the reason displayed in the message.

Recommended

Action

Based on the disable reason displayed, take appropriate action to restore the port. Insufficient
frame buffers: Reduce the distance or speed settings for the port to reduce the buffer requirement
of the link. Alternatively, one or more ports in the port group must be disabled to make more
buffers available for the link. Refer to the Fabric OS Administrator's Guide for more information.
